Questions, answered

Everything families in Barrie and Simcoe County ask us most about funding, getting started, and what to expect.

Getting Started

No — anyone is welcome to access our services regardless of a formal diagnosis. Children with any diagnosis, or no diagnosis at all, are welcome with us.

  • We always suggest seeing your family doctor first. They can refer you for an Autism Assessment through the provincial health plan — note this usually comes with a lengthy wait time.
  • Another option is to pay privately for an Autism Assessment. This is often a short wait, with fees typically ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.
  • If you'd like to go privately, we're happy to make provider recommendations.

Yes. As an interdisciplinary team, we pride ourselves on collaborating to meet each child's specific needs. This often means different professionals consulting together on goal setting or providing extra support across different areas to maximize development.

This depends greatly on your child's needs and your goals as a family. Once the initial assessment is complete (Speech and/or ABA), we'll be able to make accurate recommendations based on our clinical findings.
